If you are passing by Hale End Library do stop and take a look at the beautiful doorstep photos taken by Claudine Hartzel currently on display in the library window.
A little about Claudine in her own words

“I have been a photographer for over 25 years and have had my photography business for over 10 years. I love capturing images, it all started when my dad built me a darkroom when i was 13 in our garage. I studied fine art photography at Glasgow School of Art I have had my work exhibited in London, Paris and NY.

During lockdown I saw an a post on FB asking for a local photographer to capture people on their doorsteps in Highams Park. I offered my services and immediately the response was huge, it was so lovely to be meeting my local community and be able to use my camera. It made my lockdown very special experience and I even managed to raise £1200 for Haven House Children’s hospice from the proceeds of the images.

I also have managed to exhibit the images at the Highams Park Library, you can see there what an amazing project it became and the wonderful faces of Highams Park.”
