Just in case you were wondering the Picnic in the Park is still going ahead on Sunday, however, due to the hot weather forecast for Sunday Chews Dogs have decided not to go ahead with the dog show.
The Picnic in The Park is a free to attend family event.
Date: Sunday 10th September 2023
Time: 11.30 am until 4.30 pm
Location: The Highams Park, IG8 9RB (near Highams Park Lake)
Organizers: The Friends of The Highams Park (FOTHP) and the Highams Park Planning Group
Even without the dog show, this will still be a fun day out for all the family and there will be lots of things going on, with a great line up of live music, entertainment stands, food & drink stalls, local crafters and more. Heales Cycles and Woodford Rugby Club will also have pitches with free activities for children.
This year the event will include:
- Live music (please see below for the music schedule)
- Coconut shy
- Pelt a Pal
- Welly Wanging
- Face Painting
- Food and refreshments stalls
- Craft and knick-knack stalls
- Other games and entertainments
- Activities for children with Heales Cycles and Woodford Rugby Club.
If you bring a water bottle or flask you will be able to fill it up from the tap in the compound behind Humphry’s Café.
Please try and walk to the event, as car parking in the stretch of The Charter Road between Falmouth Avenue and Tamworth Avenue will be suspended on the day to prevent traffic congestion and vehicle access to Tamworth Avenue will be closed to non-residents.
