The latest exhibition at Humphry’s is by local artist Christine Loze and will run for six weeks from 6th September.

It is a lovely exhibition and we have included some of the pictures in the page below to give you a taster of what to expect if you pop in to see the exhibition.

A little about Christine Loze
“Since a very young age art has been my passion and it was the one subject I excelled in at Highams Park Senior High School so I left aged 16 in 1980 to complete a 2 year foundation course and A level art at Loughton College. The bulk of my career however was in the Furnishings Retail sector where my other love of fabrics and Interior Design led me to work in many customers homes restyling their interiors. During my spare time I also enjoyed creating my own arts and crafts and hand made cards to sell at local fairs and gift shops while raising my son Tom.
Then in 2013 an unexpected complex spine operation prevented me from returning to work in retail and so I decided to fulfil my dream and devote my recovery time to establishing myself as a “proper artist”. Being mostly self taught I have gradually developed a wide variety of styles, and having lived in the area nearly all my life I am greatly influenced by the surrounding nature of beautiful Epping Forest. I love experimenting with colourful watercolours or acrylic abstracts, tiny miniatures and my more recent obsession is with pastel landscapes. I can forget time and spend many hours creating with little sticks of pure pigment and paper. I also recently completed a painted landscape wall mural in someone’s bathroom.
One of my specialities is depicting precise, accurate likeness in animal and people portraits that I am commissioned to do for customers and I believe also in teaching others that art is not only incredibly healing but attainable to anyone with a desire for learning to draw and paint. I hope you enjoy my exhibition.”
