Shannon is an independent singer/songwriter whose soulful vocals and tender lyrics capture all things heartfelt. Taking the lead with an acoustic guitar, she holds words that speak honest and true. The topics she covers sit between a personal diary entry and an intimate heart to heart with a trusted friend. All of this is wrapped into soundscapes of melodies and harmonies mixed with silky smooth basslines.
Using meaningful lyrics and a creative mind, the acoustic singer/songwriter from East London began releasing her first singles in 2020, which debuted on BBC Radio Essex. She has also performed gigs around the London circuit including Upstairs @ Ronnie Scotts, Box Park, The Lucky Pig Cocktail Bar, Number Six Bar, Camden and amongst others.
2021 has seen Shannon release two new singles and a string of showstopping performances around London’s West End (including a sold out show at Pizza Express Live, Holborn) More recently, Shannon was introduced on BBC Music Introducing as a new upcoming artist in Essex and performed a debut set with her new live band at well known jazz venue, Le QuecumBar in Battersea.
Shannon is a creative resident from and still residing in Highams Park.
Her sound has been compared to Amy Winehouse, Adele and Natasha Bedingfield. All of which are strong independent female artists who sparked inspiration early on for her. Shannon aims to promote authenticity, and self belief through her music, so other women can feel enabled to pursue their passions and feel empowered to be themselves.
Other musicians that have influenced Shannon’s music include: Lianne La Havas, Lauryn Hill, Lake Street Dive, Jamiroquai, Ed Sheeran, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Sam Smith, Sincerely Wilson, Tori Kelly, Jennifer Hudson, Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Buckley, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and many more!
For Now is about taking time out for yourself after a stressful situation whilst eventually accepting the need to return to reality as one realises that everything is temporary.
Shannon’s new single reflects and metaphorically presents personal emotions that were once felt whilst she was in a similar situation.
