The Council are consulting on proposed increases to the charging hours for ‘pay to park’ parking bays across the borough.
Pay to park bays are dedicated short-term parking bays which can be paid for by phone, online or through mobile apps. These bays are often found near town centres, shops, or businesses. This does not include Council car parks or permit-only bays.
The proposals include the following changes for all pay to park parking bays:
- Increasing the charging hours to 8am – 6.30pm Monday to Sunday (previously 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm Monday to Saturday).
- Removing the 15-minute free parking period.
- Removing the 1pm-2pm free parking period.
The Council wants your feedback on these proposals and your feedback will help inform their decision.
