The highly respected street artist ATM created a wall mural on the wall to rear of the play area in Signal Walk opposite Tesco. The  mural is comprised of a tawny owl, a spotted, woodpecker, a greenfinch and a blue tit.

ATM  specialises in painting bird species that are under threat. You may have seen some of his beautiful work at the Walthamstow Wetlands, you can view mores samples of his work by clicking on the links at the bottom of this page.

The wall mural was arranged by volunteers from the Arts & Culture Group (ARC) of the Highams Park Planning Group as the final part of the Wild About Highams Park Project which included the animal carvings around Highams Park.

Some of the funding was provided to Highams Park Community CIC (the project arm of HPPG) by Ward Forum funding from  Hatch Lane and Hale End & Highams Park wards as part of the London Borough of Culture initiative and we would like to thank our local Councillors for agreeing to allocate the funding.

We should also like to extend our special thanks to:

  • W.J. Meade estate agents in Highams Park and The Stow Brothers estate agents for providing sponsorship for the wall mural.
  • Chingford Scaffolding Services (C.S.S.) for lending the scaffolding free of charge.
  • Tesco for giving permission for the wall to be painted.
