A visit to Henry Morgan Opticians.

I visited long established Henry Morgan Opticians who are on The Avenue opposite Highams Park Railway station and met with Philip Morgan the proprietor.

What do you do?
We are a local community opticians and have been providing professional eyecare since 1931. We have an extensive range of frames including a selection of big brands. We are always on the lookout for frame designers offering something a bit different from what you find on the high street.

We have an onsite laboratory allowing us to assemble the glasses, carry out repairs and provide a personalised service to our patients.

We also screen for Visual Stress. As many as 20% of the population report problems when looking at a page with words and numbers. In many cases the discomfort can be reduced by using coloured lenses whilst reading. Stan Wan who has been with us for over 20 years specialises in this area of expertise.

We are delighted to offer an extensive range of specialised optometry services including contact lenses and ortho K.

What’s Ortho-K?
Ortho K is a special kind of gas permeable contact lens worn over night, leaving you with clear natural vision all day. This is an ideal solution for short sighted children and adults, who will no longer be reliant upon glasses or contact lenses. It dramatically slows down the progression of myopia.

What piece of advice would you give the public about eyecare and opticians?
It’s important to get regular eye examinations, we can tell a lot from the health of the eyes. There are many conditions that can be treated successfully if diagnosed early enough.

If you are struggling with headaches, tired eyes, or reading ask your optician for advice. It’s great to get the full benefit from your vision and our dispensing opticians can guide you in the right direction.
