Froglife has designated The Charter Road between Tamworth Avenue and Falmouth Avenue as a frog/toad crossing point as it is where the amphibians (frogs, toads and newts) cross the road as they return from the forest each year to spawn in the lake.
The spawning period has started now and local volunteers are monitoring the crossing point to help stop them getting run over by vehicles.
